Turkish Delight or Lokum as it is called, is a middle eastern traditional sweet.

This candy is delicately flavoured, i have used the Rose essence and Rose Water!
Brought all the way from Dubai by my daughter! Nuts and dry fruits are also added to it and then rolled in icing sugar! It takes time when done on Gas , i have made this in Microwave oven, in 20 mts and the result is fantastic! The pictures r the proof!

Rose flavoured Turkish Delight.

Recipr🌺
Ingredients🌺
3 cups water
2 cups sugar
4 tbsp gelatin, unflavoured. I have used Sailor brand
1/4 cup icing sugar
2/3 rd cup corn flour
1/4 teasp Creme of Tarter
Red color, pink
Rose essence few drops, rose water 1/2 tsp

Method🌺
Add in a micro safe bowl..3 cups water, 2 cups sugar and 4 tbsp gelatin. Stir it well. I have used a Borosil Dish.
Put it in the oven, cook for 7 mts on high, my oven is 900 w.
Remove, mix well again.
Put it back and cook for another 7 mts! On High!

Sift icing sugar, cornflour and Cream  of Tarter.mix it well .
Add to the gelatin liquid, mix well and put back on high for 6 mts.
Remove. Add color, essence. Mix well. Its a good idea to strain it now once!
Take tray or moulds, but lightly oil them with a brush, and pour the mixture into them.
Cool it outside for 10 mts and put it uncovered in fridge for 6 hrs.
Cut it into pieces.
Mix icing sugar with little cornflour…say 4 tbsp icing sugar to 1 tbsp cornflor.
Roll them into this mixture.  They r ready! Pretty pink beauties!
Enjoy

The ready mixture.

The moulds are chocolate moulds.its a good idea to pour it into the beaker and pour it out into the moulds.

The flat trays were easier to use than the moulds.

For a first timer, dont use moulds, go for a plain tray, oiled.
Easier to remove and cut into pieces.

Close up ! Yummy! Pretty !

Couldnt take many pics since it was a fast cooking procedure.
