Let’s have a taste of summer with this refreshing, super healthy and nutritious tropical smoothie made with frozen banana, mango and pineapple, served in a bowl with fresh fruit, coconut flakes and a drizzle of honey
This post is written in collaboration with Three Peaks Manuka Honey. All opinions are mine alone.
There’s nothing like a healthy, fruity and refreshing tropical smoothie bowl to bring you into summer mood… and get you ready for bikini season! Are you ready for it?
This tropical smoothie bowl comes together in only a few minutes and has everything you can ask for in a mouthwatering and refreshing snack or healthy dessert.
This dense and creamy smoothie is made with frozen banana, mango and pineapple. Topped with fresh fruit ( banana and mango on mine, but can also add pineapple pieces or your favorite fruit). A sprinkle of unsweetened coconut flakes and chia seeds. And a much needed drizzle of this amazing, premium quality Manuka honey.
This smoothie is meant to be eaten with a spoon from a bowl, so I made it extra dense… A lot denser than your usual drinkable smoothie.
To get this consistency, I’m using only frozen fruits and a small amount of liquid (you can use regular milk, or your favorite almond, soy…).
Depending on your blender, you might need to open the top of your blender, move the frozen fruit from the side to the middle and blend some more. So you can get a smooth and creamy result throughout.
For the topping, you are welcome to decorate as you wish.
You can add banana, mango, coconut flakes, chia seeds and honey, like I did.
Or you can change it up and add your favorites: granola, almond slices, crushed hazelnuts, sunflower seeds, peanut butter, almond butter … so many delicious choices!
No matter what you add, I do recommend a nice drizzle of honey to add a sweet and gooey note to the smoothie.
As I mentioned, today I’m using Three Peaks New Zealand Manuka Honey. It’s an incrediebly delicious, smooth and creamy, 100% pure and authentic Manuka honey form the wild and remote volcanic central plateau of New Zealand (a UNESCO world heritage site).
If you haven’t heard of Manuka honey before, it’s a honey produced form the nectar of Manuka flowers, which are only found in New Zealand and have been used over the centuries as holistic medicine. You can check out Three Peaks New Zealand Manuka Honey here to find out more.
